Is your computer suddenly running slow, crashing a lot, or doing other weird things? Chances are you may have a virus. Or perhaps some other sort of "malware" (from the latin "mal-", meaning bad, software) or adware that could be slowing your machine and even sending your private information - or worse yet, your clients' private information - to a hacker.
There are tens of thousands of new computer viruses created every day, and not every antivirus can protect from every one, though today most of them do a pretty decent job. Antivirus programs however can't protect you from malware, adware, trojans, OS exploits and other malicious attacks.
This is where I come in. When I first started in the IT field sixteen years ago, antivirus programs were in their infancy and so one of my many "hats" was "virus hunter." I developed a sixth sense, able to sniff out if a virus or other malicious program was infecting a computer, and the best way to get rid of it. (Back in the day, I even decompiled and rewrote some Word Macro viruses to act as a sort of "vaccine" until commercial antivirus products could catch up.)
I can come into your home or place of business, have a look at your computer and figure out if and how bad your computer might be infected, and I can rid you of your problem. And if I can't, there's no charge. (And I'll be honest up front; once in a while there are viruses and attacks so bad that they can't be removed without wiping your computer and starting from scratch. And even then, that might not protect you from a root hack. But fortunately those situations are rather rare.)
I will also educate you, and your family/staff, about safe computing: how to protect from attacks in the future, and what to sorts of things to look out for and avoid. Because as G.I. Joe used to say, "Knowing is half the battle."
If you have a situation and think you might have an infected computer, give me a call. I'll be happy to come over and see what I can do. Is your computer sick? The doctor is IN.
